EMPIRE INDUSTRIES� CEO TO PRESENT AT MID-CANADA INVESTMENT FORUM IN WINNIPEG, SMALL-CAP CONFERENCE IN VANCOUVER AND TWO “ON THE RADAR” EVENTS

Winnipeg, Manitoba, October 29, 2008 � Empire Industries Ltd. (TSX-V: EIL) (�Empire� or the �Company�), a provider of steel fabrication and installation services and specialized engineered products, announced today that Guy Nelson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Empire, will be participating in the Mid-Canada Investment Forum in Winnipeg on November 4th and the Small-Cap Conference in Vancouver on November 7th and 8th. Mr. Nelson�s presentation at both conferences will focus on Empire�s investment proposition � its competitive strengths, growth strategy and outlook.

About the Winnipeg Mid-Canada Investment Forum

The Mid-Canada Investment Forum is a new conference dedicated to matching the investment community and publicly-traded companies operating from Alberta to western Ontario. The conference is being held at the Fairmont Hotel in Winnipeg on November 4th between 10am and 6pm. Mr. Nelson will give a presentation at noon. In addition to the two conferences above, the CEO of Empire, will present at the TSX / Equicom �On the Radar� retail investor forums in Vancouver and Calgary on November 12th and 13th respectively. The presentation will focus on Empire�s investment proposition. ‘On the Radar’ is Canada’s premier monthly issuer showcase series providing public companies with an opportunity to present their stories to the professional investment community in Canada’s main financial centers (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver). Attendees are drawn from a broad base of professional investors at bank-owned and boutique brokerage houses, to provide an audience of approximately 50 invited attendees qualified by sector preference and investment-risk profile.
