Futoroscope’s latest attraction is open … and guests are storming the new enthusiastic ride. ‘Chasseurs de Tornades’ (Tornado Hunters) is the park’s 40th futuristic attraction and has already been hailed as the best.
An action-adventure-show-ride
Guests are tossed into an overwhelming experience surrounded by the action on a circular LED screen, special effects and ‘live’ action. That’s right: with real people and objects on stage, it’s hard to tell what’s real from movie projections. The cylindrical cinema is of such quality that guests mistake the screen for security metal walls of a laboratory for the study of natural disasters. With a diameter of 17 meters, Futuroscope has the largest cinema of its type in the world. The screen is made up of 800 LED frames, for a resolution of 21K. Trick the eye by making images look very real.
Futuristic technology is the heart of the ride
The most powerful component of the illusion of this attraction comes from the secret ingredient of Chasseur de Tornades: it is the first Dynamic Motion Theater in the world. It was built by Dynamic Attractions, a Canadian company, famous for inventing the most technological and exciting rides for theme park operators. The imposing 120-seat theater is capable of tilting and turning on itself at 30 kilometers per hour. If it stands, winces or rotates, the movement is always perfectly synchronized with the stage and the action on the screen, thus increasing the immersion of the experience. In addition, there are dozens of fans and nebulizers to simulate the meteorological cataclysm for a mind-blowing experience.
“Futuroscope brings the future to its guests, pushing their imaginations through immersive experiences,” said Rodolphe Bouin. “Chasseurs de Tornades is an adventure unlike any other, with an exciting storyline and cutting-edge technology. Dynamic Attraction has once again produced a ‘world first’ ride for Futuroscope with its Motion Theater. “
Famous for “the first in the world”
“Futuroscope is what sets the trends,” explains Guy Nelson, CEO of Dynamic Attractions, the company that built the attraction. “The park boldly opened ‘The Extraordinary Journey’, featuring the world’s first Dynamic Flying Theater.” Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, the attraction has become the best in the park and has won all possible awards.
Success brings imitation. The popularity of the Dynamic Flying Theaters has taken off and has reached destinations around the world, such as:
- Batman Dark Flight – Macau
- Flying Over Indonesia – Bali, Indonesia
- Hubei in the Air – Wuhan, China
- Krrish: Hero’s Flight – Dubai, UAE
- SkyVenture – Seoul, South Korea
- Wings of Destiny – Doha, Qatar
- Wings Over Washington – Seattle
- Zaryadye Flight – Moscow, Russia
Building on what happened with the flying theater, Futuroscope started another trend. Dynamic Motion Theaters will surely come to other destinations as well. In fact, the sister company of Dynamic Attractions will do everything to make this happen. Dynamic Entertainment works with operators to bring more theme park quality rides to destinations other than theme parks. For example he produced ‘SkyFly: Soar America’, a steampunk themed flying experience in Tennessee, USA. The company developed the theme, the plot, the film and provided the ride technology. Dynamic Entertainment is actively seeking partnerships with destinations to be able to install other Flying Theaters and Motion Theaters.
