SkyFly: Soar America, Dynamic Entertainment’s inaugural project, has reached its one year milestone. All of us at Dynamic Technologies Group say ‘Congratulations’.
Four years ago, CEO Guy Nelson dramatically shared a broader view of the company. A new division would be created to better leverage Dynamic’s patented technologies. The plan was to find a destination worthy of a theme park quality attraction. Combining the destination operator’s expertise and Dynamic’s attraction know-how, a Co-venture would be created.
This would be a big switch. Dynamic would not get paid directly. The company was used to receiving a cheque after delivering each ride, usually from the world’s biggest park operators. Instead, Dynamic would become part owner of the attraction. The new direction was a gamble. But with proper research and due diligence, the company was sure it would pay-off.
The Island in Pigeon Forge was selected for the Co-venture. The 23-acre entertainment destination is routinely selected as one of the best amusement parks in America on Trip Advisor. It is located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which draws over 11 million annual visitors.
Many know that Dynamic Attractions provided a flying theater ride system. However, our newest division, Dynamic Entertainment, was heavily involved in all aspects of the attraction, from architecture and story development to interior design and theming.
The Island in Pigeon Forge couldn’t possibly be a better partner.
And it shows. SkyFly: Soar America was opened July 9 last year … and has been continuously generating and delighting lines of passengers.
On January 1st of this year, USA Today declared SkyFly: Soar America to be the nation’s number one attraction.
Based on the success of our first year as a co-owner of this award-winning attraction, you can bet we plan to have more Co-ventures. Stay tuned!
